Thanksgiving Vacation 2019 was one to remember. It started with Chris and I having a great time cooking Thanksgiving dinner together for the first time at his relatives in Rhode Island. After a wonderful Thanksgiving with family we traveled to Cape Cod. Saturday evening was a quiet, romantic dinner, wine, chocolate covered strawberries, and a whirlpool tub. Before we headed home on Sunday, we visited one of our favorite National Parks - Cape Cod National Seashore. I thought Chris had his video camera with him to shoot a scene for one of his film productions. Little did I know the camera was for something else… Walking to the shoreline, in my usual-Alison fashion, I was complaining about the cold and sand in my shoes. But Chris encouraged me to keep walking. As we neared the shoreline, Chris asked me to stand in front of the camera to setup a shot of the ocean. I became quite confused when I noticed that he pressed the record button. Chris jumped in front of the camera for a giggle-filled hug and started talking about our relationship. I thought, "Is this happening? Wait, is this a…? No, no! Hold on...is that a...?" Chris got down in the sand on his right knee, reached into his pocket and slowly opened a box. Being so excited, I couldn't tell you what he said to me, without re-watching the video. I was too surprised! “Will you marry me?” he said. I said, "Yes!," cried, took photos, and called my mom.
